Victoria Falls guided tour from the Zambian side
Livingstone, Zambia is the original home of Victoria Falls tourism and offers the most authentic experience of this natural wonder. This 4-day trip immerses you in everything the falls and the Zambezi River have to offer, combining natural spectacle with adventure, culture, and relaxation in equal measure. Victoria Falls — known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, 'The Smoke That Thunders' — is the world's largest curtain of falling water, stretching 1.7 kilometres wide and plunging 108 metres into the Batoka Gorge. The Zambian side of the falls offers a more intimate and less crowded experience than the Zimbabwean side, with viewpoints that allow you to stand at the very edge of the precipice where the water tumbles into the abyss. Your guided tour of the falls is complemented by a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, where hippos, elephants, and crocodiles share the waterway with your cruise boat as the African sun drops below the horizon. Livingstone town itself is steeped in history — named after the Scottish missionary-explorer David Livingstone who 'discovered' the falls in 1855 — and a visit to the Livingstone Museum provides fascinating context. For adrenaline seekers, optional activities include bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting on Grade 5 rapids, helicopter flights, zip-lining, gorge swings, and microlight flights over the falls. For those seeking tranquility, spa treatments, cultural village visits, and leisurely riverside dining provide the perfect counterbalance. Whether you seek adventure or relaxation, Livingstone delivers.

Your Journey, Day by Day
4 carefully curated days across Victoria Falls, Livingstone
Day 1
Arrival in Livingstone & Zambezi Sunset Cruise
Arrive at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (Livingstone) and transfer to your luxury riverside hotel on the banks of the Zambezi, just upstream of Victoria Falls. Check in and settle into your room with views of the river. After lunch, explore the hotel grounds — the gardens attract warthogs, vervet monkeys, and a variety of birds. In the late afternoon, board a luxury cruise boat for a sunset voyage on the Zambezi River. Sip cocktails and sample canapes as the boat drifts past hippo pods, elephants drinking on the banks, and crocodiles basking on sand islands. The sunset over the Zambezi is one of Africa's most iconic moments.
Day 2
Victoria Falls Guided Tour & Livingstone Heritage
Today's highlight is a guided tour of Victoria Falls from the Zambian side. Enter the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and walk the network of pathways that bring you to the very edge of the falls. Feel the spray on your face as nearly 500 million litres of water per minute plunge over the basalt lip into the gorge below. The Zambian viewpoints include the Knife Edge Bridge — a narrow walkway suspended above the gorge with views directly into the churning cauldron of the Eastern Cataract. After the falls, visit the Livingstone Museum — Zambia's largest and oldest museum, housing fascinating collections on the natural and cultural history of the region. The afternoon is free for optional activities or relaxation by the pool.
Day 3
Adventure Day & Farewell Dinner
A full day dedicated to your chosen adventure activities — or complete relaxation, the choice is yours. Adrenaline options include bungee jumping from the 111-metre Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting through the Batoka Gorge's legendary Grade 5 rapids, a 'Flight of Angels' helicopter ride over the falls, zip-lining across the gorge, a gorge swing, or a microlight flight for a bird's-eye perspective. For a gentler pace, choose a walking safari in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park to see white rhino on foot, a cultural village visit, or a pampering spa session at the hotel. The evening brings a farewell dinner at a riverside restaurant, with the distant roar of the falls as your soundtrack.
Day 4
Livingstone — Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast on the hotel terrace overlooking the Zambezi, watching the spray from Victoria Falls rise into the morning sky. Depending on your departure time, take a last stroll through the hotel gardens or visit the local craft market for souvenirs — Zambian carvings, baskets, and jewellery make wonderful mementos. Transfer to Livingstone Airport for your departure flight. Depart with the sound of thundering water and the image of African sunsets etched into your memory.
